and amlodipine besylate was developed by UV-visible double beam spectrophotometer (Shimadzu UV- 1601) using multicomponent mode analysis with matched pair quartz cells corresponding to 1 cm path length. The proposed method used
economical solvents and instrument. Olmesartan medoxomil and amlodipine besylate in combination were used as tablet
dosage forms in the ratio of 4:1. Linearity was established for olmesartan medoxomil and amlodipine besylate in the range of 2-
20 µg/mL.The reproducibility of sample was expressed in terms of S.D. and % R.S.D. The percentage recoveries of olmesartan
medoxomil and amlodipine besylate were found in the range of 99-101 %. Aqueous methanol was used as a blank. The
validation studies were performed according to International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guideline. The results of
specificity studies reveal that both the drugs degraded in presence of acid. Ruggedness was performed under three different
conditions such as different days, different analysts and intraday. The results show the % RSD values < 2.0 % signifies the
precision of the method.
<Email>dineshkawade@yahoo.co.in</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>3</volume><issue>5</issue><year>2012</year><keyword>Olmesartan medoxomil,Amlodipine besylate,UV-Spectroscopy,Multi-component mode analysis [MMA]</keyword><AUTHORS>Dinesh P.
