The Clitoria ternatea, Solanum nigrum
and Aloe vera leaves were extracted and tested for LPO, metal composition and TLC analysis. The petroleum ether extracts of
Clitoria ternatea, Solanum nigrum and Aloe vera leaves showed antifungal activity. The results showed the leaves of Solanum
nigrum possess higher levels of antioxidants. Clitoria ternatea, Solanum nigrum and Aloe vera plants were also analyzed by
FTIR and TLC for phytochemical compound identification of phenolic compounds. Antifungal activity of crude plant extract
was screened by agar tube dilution method against Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus flavus. These results showed that these
plants extracts have potential activity against fungi.
<Email>jchitra21@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>3</volume><issue>7</issue><year>2012</year><keyword>Petroleum ether extract,Clitoria ternatea, Solanum nigrum,LPO analysis,Antifungal activity,TLC analysis</keyword><AUTHORS>A.
