activity to be higher than that of acid phosphates activity. The decline in phosphates activity as a function of sub lethal
concentrations of heavy metal chromium was evident which reflects the damage and degradation of Lysosome during stress in
the biological system. Concentration as well as exposure period dependent statistically significant (P<0.05) inhibition in acid
phosphates activity in liver and intestine and alkaline phosphates activity in liver and intestine of Catla catla are advocated as
bioindicators of water borne heavy metal chromium stress.
<Email>smile.suresh3@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>4</volume><issue>10</issue><year>2013</year><keyword>Chromium,Phosphatases, Catla catla,Lysosome,Bioindicators</keyword><AUTHORS>Suresh B,Samba Naik A,Ravi Babu B,Lakshmana Swamy P,Cyril Arun Kumar L,Jagadish Naik M</AUTHORS><afflication>Department of Zoology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.,Department of Zoology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.,Department of Biotechnology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.,Department of Biotechnology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.,VSR&NVR College (Autonomous), Tenali, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.,Department of Zoology, Acharya Nagarjuna University, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India.</afflication></Article></Articles>
