In this study Loratadine gastro retentive floating tablets were prepared and optimized the release of Loratadine by using HPMC
K4 M and HPMC K15 M as polymers. The tablets prepared by direct compression technique and evaluated by physical
parameters and in vitro dissolution parameters. A total nine formulations were prepared with varying polymer concentrations.
All tablets were acceptable with strength was observed in tablets formulated with HPMC K4 M and HPMC K15 M. Formulation
F9 showed maximum release 98% in 10 hrs. FT-IR studies showed no evidence of interaction between drug and polymers
<Email>anishbujji@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>4</volume><issue>12</issue><year>2013</year><keyword>Loratadine,Gastro retentive Floating tablets,HPMC,In vitro dissolution and direct compression</keyword><AUTHORS>Anish Kumar D,Jhansi Rani M, Sudhakar Babu AMS,Venkateswara Rao P</AUTHORS><afflication> Department of Pharmaceutics A.
