vitro antioxidant and free radical scavenging properties. The extracts were screened for their antioxidant activities in terms of
DPPH•, ferrous ion chelating activity, antihemolytic activity, ABTS•+ free radical scavenging activity and reducing power.
Methanolic extracts of leaf, stem and root exhibited remarkable antioxidant activity in terms of all the assays tested than the
other solvent extracts performed. The activities were considerably higher than the natural and synthetic antioxidants also.
Considering all the activities performed, it is known that leaf, stem and root extracts of T. javanicum were found to be the
potent source of natural antioxidants
<Email>paulsami@yahoo.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>4</volume><issue>12</issue><year>2013</year><keyword>Thalictrum javanicum,Rananculaceae,In vitro antioxidant activity</keyword><AUTHORS>Abinaya Gurunathan,Paulsamy Subramanium, Saradha Maran</AUTHORS><afflication>Department of Botany Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India.,Department of Botany Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India.,Department of Botany Kongunadu Arts and Science College, Coimbatore, Tamilnadu, India.</afflication></Article></Articles>
