developmental disorders and autoimmune disorders.Recent research indicates that children exposed to chlorpyrifos while in the
womb have an increased risk of delays in mental and motor development and an increased occurrence of pervasive
developmental disorders. Thus the present study is designed to evaluate the effect of Curcuma longa on biochemical and subcellular structure of uterus of chlorpyrifos exposed mice. Chlorpyrifos administration at 6 mg/kg b.wt for 8 weeks was followed
by the administration of alcoholic extract (5% Ethanol) of rhizome of Curcuma longa for 8 weeks at 50 mg/kg b.wt. Estrogen
level was increased in chloropyrifos administered group while it gradually decreases in Curcuma longa administered group.
Lipid peroxidation level was increased many folds in chloropyrifos administered group while it was decreased after Curcuma
longa administration. Degeneration of nucleus, nuclear membrane, mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi complex
was observed in chloropyrifos administered group. Curcuma longa acts effectively against chloropyrifos administered group of
mice and restores mitochondria, nuclear membrane, nucleus and Golgi complex effectively. Thus it is concluded from study
that Curcuma longa play effective role against chloropyrifos toxicity on restoration of estrogen and lipid peroxidation levels. It
also maintains histology of uterus effectively. It restores cellular and sub cellular toxicity of chloropyrifos exposed uterus
effectively and restores normal function of uterus
<Email>ranjitzool17@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>5</volume><issue>10</issue><year>2014</year><keyword>Curcuma longa,Nucleus,Mitochondria,Estrogen</keyword><AUTHORS>Anshupriya,Ranjit Kumar,Md Ali,Arun Kumar</AUTHORS><afflication>A.
