resveratrol and curcumin in rat plasma. A HPLC method with UV-visible detection was developed employing C-18 column.
The mobile phase used was 10 mM ammonium acetate buffer and methanol. The developed method was validated as per the
USFDA guidelines for bioanalytical method validation. The validation parameters are found to be well within the
specifications. This method was also employed to estimate the plasma concentration of resveratrol and curcumin in the samples
obtained from a single dose per oral pharmacokinetic study in Wistar rats and the plasma samples obtained from in vivo
pharmacokinetic study in Wistar rats showed various extra peaks, which could be the metabolites of both the compounds, and
the characterization of the extra peaks is underway. Thus the method developed and validated in the present study can be
employed to estimate these two drugs simultaneously in all the in vivo studies, along with their metabolites
<Email>bala.hospira@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>5</volume><issue>12</issue><year>2014</year><keyword>Bioanalytical method,Validation, Estimation of resveratrol and curcumin,Simultaneous estimation</keyword><AUTHORS>Balammal G, Saravana Kumar A</AUTHORS><afflication>Research Scholar, Pacific Academy of Higher Education and Research University, Pacific Hills, Udaipur – 313024, Rajasthan, India,Sri Venkateswara College of Pharmacy, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh – 517 127, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
