<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>554</id><JournalTitle>EFFECT OF PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS OF THE ROOTS OF MEDICINAL PLANTS ON PLANT PARASITIC NEMATODES</JournalTitle><Abstract>Soil nematodes have great impact on crop productivity when they attack the roots of seedlings immediately after seed
germination. Therefore nematode control is highly essential. Most of the pesticides and chemicals used for nematode control
have adverse effect on environment. Phenolic compounds like flavanoids, tannins, lignans etc from the roots of medicinal
plants have the capacity to reduce the effect of plant parasitic nematodes. Here medicinal plants like Kaempferia galangal and
Aloe vera were cultivated along with control plant Brinjal (Solanum melongena), individually to find out the effect of phenolic
compounds on population of plant parasitic nematodes. The nematode population was analyzed at regular intervals. The total
