<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>557</id><JournalTitle>A CASE REPORT ON PREDNISONE INDUCED DIABETES MELLITUS</JournalTitle><Abstract>Glucocorticoids are very efficacious and frequently prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs. However, glucocorticoid
treatment is associated with frequent occurrence of multiple side effects, including adverse metabolic effects like
hyperglycemia. Here we report a case of prednisone induced diabetes mellitus where patient blood glucose level was found to
be 156mg/dl at 6th month from the initiation of therapy. Patient was initially nondiabetic, do not have family history of diabetes
and there were no other predisposing factors, hence it was confirmed as drug induced condition. As there is a risk of Diabetes
mellitus with the use of glucocorticoids, hence Patients who are taking these drugs should be investigated for hyperglycemia
