<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><Articles><Article><id>589</id><JournalTitle>EFFICACY OF COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE HERBAL MOUTHRINSES ON THE PLAQUE AND GINGIVAL STATUS AMONG 12-14YRS OLD SCHOOLCHILDREN</JournalTitle><Abstract>Many popular herbal oral healthcare products are available in the market which offers significant advantages over the
chemical ones. It is therefore imperative to use a mouthrinse for children which is safe and effective in protecting oral health.
The study aims to compare the efficacy of three commercially available herbal mouthrinses, selected after a market research.
study was conducted on 12-14 yrs. old schoolchildren. The sample size of 75. The subjects were given, mouthrinse for 21 days
and examination was conducted at baseline, 14th and 21st days for plaque and gingival index. The three commercially available
herbal mouthrinses HiOra, Dento-care and B-Fresh were found to be significantly effective antiplaque and anti-gingivitis
agents. Subjects found the taste of Dento-care mouthrinse more palatable compared to the HiOra and B-fresh mouthrinse.
Evaluating efficacy of herbal mouthrinses would influence the informed choice of product. Herbal mouthrinses have become
the choice of present oral healthcare and hence their efficacy, safety and other compatible be analyzed regularly for product
