microorganisms such as Penicillin and ampicillin. The antimicrobial activity was checked using disc diffusion method. Plant
extracts were prepared from Acetone, Butanol, double distilled water, Ethanol. Butanol leaf extract of Cannabis sativa linn
showed significant antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli giving zone of inhibition 18 mm. It was also found that
Acetone, Ethanol and distilled water leaf extract of Cynodon dactylon showed significant antimicrobial activity against
Staphylococcus aureus giving zone of inhibition of 17mm
<Email>rajendrapavan007@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>6</volume><issue>7</issue><year>2015</year><keyword>Antimicrobial activity,Cannabis sativa linn, Calotropis procera,Cynodon dactylon,Zone of inhibition</keyword><AUTHORS>Rajan Kumar Dubey,Sazid Ahmad Champarani,Rishabh Gupta,Gorakhnath Chaudhary,Rajendra Pavan</AUTHORS><afflication>Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Biomedical Education and Research, Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, 202145, Uttar Pradesh, India.,Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Biomedical Education and Research, Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, 202145, Uttar Pradesh, India.,Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Biomedical Education and Research, Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, 202145, Uttar Pradesh, India.,Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Biomedical Education and Research, Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, 202145, Uttar Pradesh, India.,Department of Biotechnology, Institute of Biomedical Education and Research, Mangalayatan University, Aligarh, 202145, Uttar Pradesh, India.</afflication></Article></Articles>
