Total of 100 children aged 1-18 years old and presenting clinical manifestations of acute pharyngotonsillitis were subjected to clinical interviews, physical examinations, and throat swab specimen collection to perform cultures. One hundred cases of acute tonsillitis were selected 56 males and44 females aged from 2-18 years at random from the patients attending the outpatient Department of Medicine, Paediatrics and ENT department.
